Save the Date: March for Emergency Winter Disability Payment – 28 February

The Disability Federation of Ireland, Irish Wheelchair Association and Access for all Ireland have announced a major national protest on Saturday, 28 February.

The government has refused our call for an Emergency Winter Payment. By removing "one-off" supports before a permanent solution is in place, they have left thousands of disabled households up to €1,400 worse off this year.

Donegal Centre for Independent Living

DCIL are delighted to announce that they will be facilitating a crime prevention workshop which will take place on the 18th February between 12:00pm and 1:30pm. The local gardai are joining them at the DCIL office in Letterkenny to discuss topics like online fraud and other ways of preventing crime from occurring.

An 'Adult Safeguarding Information Event' will take place on Thursday the 19th of February at 2pm at Cara House Family Resource Centre in Letterkenny in Letterkenny.

Hear from a guest speaker from Safeguarding Ireland and get information about helpful services & support organisations that are available locally. Light refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome.

This March the RSA’s Check it Fits service will be visiting County Donegal

This March the RSA’s Check it Fits service will be visiting County Donegal. Did you know it’s the law that all children under 150cms or 36kgs must use a child car seat appropriate to their weight and height. In Ireland as many as 54% of child car seats are incorrectly fitted which can lead to serious injury or even death in a collision. Since the start of the service, the RSA’s ‘Check it Fits’ Service has checked over 70,000 child car seats and restraints in Ireland.

The Artist and Youth Work Residency Grant Scheme supports innovative partnerships between youth groups, artists, and, where relevant, arts organisations. Residencies may involve an artist working within a youth work setting or a youth group taking up residence in an arts setting.

National Community Safety Survey

The National Office for Community Safety is leading on the development of the first National Strategy for Improving Community Safety, on behalf of the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration.

They are inviting the public to contribute to the development of this new National Strategy by taking part in the National Community Safety Survey.

People have different experiences of community safety. The National Office want to hear from people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences living in the Republic of Ireland today. It takes just 10 to 15 minutes and is your opportunity to share your experience and to help public service agencies and communities to work together to make communities safer.

The National Office have tried to make this survey accessible as possible. If you experience any difficulties and require accessibility assistance, please contact accessofficer@justice.ie or call 01 602 8632.
